Terms and conditions
The Visitlochness online booking service is managed by Destination Loch Ness (“DLN”).
Booking
To book a holiday or tickets to an event, once you have decided on a property or event that is available, you can use the online secure booking facility. You can choose to pay online with credit card, or alternatively you can choose the “telephone us with credit card details” option when booking. We will hold provisional booking for you for up to seven days until we receive your payment for deposit. If you prefer telephone booking please contact us on +44 (0)1456 486691. We will be happy to help you with any questions that you might have.
All online transactions are reservations and subject to confirmation by DLN. In the event that a property is not deemed suitable by DLN for the party or, due to circumstances beyond our control, a property becomes unavailable or an event is cancelled. DLN will endeavour to retrieve any monies paid to a business on your behalf then refund any credit card or other payment. However DLN is not liable for refunding losses out-with the booking process
Cancellation Protection
We strongly recommend that you use holiday cancellation insurance to cover the cost of your holiday. This will provide you with peace of mind if an unforeseen event forces you to cancel your holiday. If you have problem sourcing insurance DLN can provide you with a suitable insurance company.
Payment
We have tried to make paying for your holiday as flexible and easy as possible. The initial payment is 25% of the total hire charge and may be paid by most forms of credit or debit card. The online booking system offers the choice to telephone in your credit card details. Please phone 01456 486691 if you wish to enquire about other forms of payment.
The balance is payable no later than six weeks prior to commencement of the holiday. Balance payments will be deducted without notification by the due date unless alternative arrangement is made in the interim. If you are booking within six weeks of the start of your holiday, payment in full is required with your booking form. Information including directions, key instructions and contact number will be given to you on receipt of final balance payment by the business concerned (remove this it is the responsibility of each individual business to make contact with customer after a booking has been made)
Payment for concerts, books and events are due in full at the time of booking.
Security
For your security and peace of mind this web site uses a secure server to collect credit card information. We use the latest 128bit technology to ensure that your details stay safe and secure. At no time are credit card details transmitted over a non secure connection. All transactions are processed by hand using the "Customer Not Present" method. If you require a receipt of your credit card transaction please email us with your request. Customer does get an automatic notification of a booking which always has a unique transaction number. This may be used as a customer receipt.
To verify your debit or credit card you must you enter the address at which the card is registered. A second delivery address can be entered for event tickets.
Cancellations
Please note that, once a holiday booking has been confirmed, you are liable for the whole cost of the holiday. However, if the reason for cancellation is not covered by your insurance scheme, we will, in any event, endeavour to re-let the property and, if successful, we will make a full refund, less a small administration charge. Accordingly, it is important that cancellations are intimated to individual accommodation business by telephone followed by immediate written confirmation. DLN accepts no liability for refunds without the express permission of the accommodation business concerned.
Booking from Overseas
Overseas holiday visitors are most welcome and because of the difficulties distance can impose we allow up to ten days for bookings to be confirmed from the date a reservation is made. Balance of charges is due six weeks prior to the commencement of the holidays.
Linen
All holiday properties have their own rules regarding the supply of duvets bed linen and towels. Please ensure you observe the position regarding this on the individual property page before you book.
Cleaning
DLN does not accept responsibility for condition of accommodation that is the responsibility of individual business.
Complaints
It is important to the property owner and to DLN that holidaymakers enjoy their holiday and every effort has been made to ensure this. However, in the unlikely event of dissatisfaction with the property or any subsequent problem, the holidaymaker should immediately contact the owner or caretaker/key holder so that the opportunity is given to rectify the problem while they are still in the premises.
TERMS & CONDITIONS OF HIRE
1. The hirer shall ensure that the standard of cleanliness of the premises is as high on their departure as on their arrival. A surcharge of may be levied if this condition is not observed.
2. The Hirer shall not sub-let the premises or any part thereof.
3. The number of people occupying the premises shall not exceed the number stated for the premises.
4. The Hirer binds and obliges himself to vacate the hired premises without demand at the termination of the period of hire.
5. The Hirer binds and obliges himself to pay the lessor in respect of any loss or damage beyond fair wear and tear.
6. Your initial payment comprises a deposit of 25% of the total hire charge. The balance of the hire charge must be paid at least 6 weeks prior to the commencement of the holiday. The Lessor may treat the booking as cancelled if the balance of the hire charge is not sent by this date and the deposit will be forfeit.
7. If the booking is made within 6 weeks of the start of the holiday, payment in full at the time of booking is required.
8. The Hirer agrees that, in the event of cancellation, while all reasonable efforts will be made by the lessor to re-let, the Hirer will be responsible for paying for the period of tenancy booked if a substitute cannot be found.
9. The Lessor, his agents or employees, accept no responsibility for loss, injury or damage to any member of the Hirer's party or their property, arising in any manner out of the let of the premises, however caused.
10. The Hirer shall undertake to prevent any member of his party from causing a nuisance or disturbance to neighbouring residents or occupiers.
11. The Hirer undertakes to leave the hired premises secure if left unoccupied during the period of let.
12. The Hirer undertakes to relieve the Lessor from any liability for damage or injury by any member of his party, however caused.
13. The Hirer warrants that the subjects let are to be used for the purposes of a Holiday. Accordingly, Section 12(2) and Paragraphs of Schedule 4 of the Housing (Scotland) Act 1988 apply to the letting to the Hirer.
14. Your contract of hire is with the property owner not DLN.
